 It was the rain

It was the rain that complicated this matter,
For there we were, ready to batter,
Such an abhorrent creature was he,
My mirror man, who had not shame,
He had the fame, I was the lame,
Yet in the rain I shouted his name,
That this day I wouldn't shutter from pain,
His frame of mind held me in disdain,
And yet I fought amist the rain.
I was the Abel, he was the Cain,
I lived for truth, he lived in vain.
Yet found myself within his reign.
I could not shake his evil frame,
And thus I found myself beneath,
His dark and taunting mane.
Still yet my Savior came,
And yes, he took the blame!
